“Studies show that loneliness has been linked to health problems like stress, high blood pressure and depression. But, the unspoken stigma often makes it taboo to address.”
The Human Loneliness Project (HLP) examines loneliness from five distinct angles. Researchers examined nearly 500 authoritative sources to understand the breadth of existing loneliness research. The team analyzed, synthesized, and strategized to deliver a cohesive body of actionable insights for companies, individuals, and governments to better understand and address this growing challenge.
Addressing loneliness requires first knowing what it is and why it is. Even then, it remains complex to address at-scale because its drivers are embedded into modern living without a one-size fits all approach. Viable approaches must include multi-disciplinary thinking and multi-stakeholder collaboration. With that, we hope this initiative inspires innovation and collaboration that ultimately helps re-establish connection with each other and with ourselves.
